Okay, prefacing with I've never tried to run a game over the internet using actual resources (it's always been just voice chat, house rules, and honor system), and I've also never judged an Sparks event so I have no experience with any of this and am pretty much just rambling here.
Since the Corona virus has started to force conventions to cancel I've been wondering if there is a way to run events online. I know there are sites and programs that let you basically run a game online (Roll20 is one of them, although the dice program it uses doesn't really let you create a wild die like we use. Astral is another but I haven't played with it so I don't know how well it would work). You can use them to prepare and share maps with your players, they have dice programs to roll for you (although see my earlier comment about the Wild Die), File storage to save character sheets and other resources, and text chat for communicating, and I know that Roll20 has voice chat. It's possible that some of the modules can be run like this.
I know that it would take a lot of effort to prepare a module to be run online, and some modules probably couldn't be run this way at all. I also know that there are probably a lot of members who wouldn't be able to play this way. And there is no way this would replace being able to sit at a table with our friends to play and plot and just goof off together. But it might be something to look into to tide us over while the Cons are shut down.

Since the committee for sparks, loves using Skype or Google hangouts, perhaps some of us players, who have that method of communicating, could give it a try,to see each other, and the dice rolls?

The council is discussing options regarding online games. Since we don't operate outside of conventions normally, and organized play is a must, we can't have people just running online SPARKS games on the fly.

Perhaps rather than trying to port Sparks or LotE to the online realm, whatever you deside on can be it's own thing. Make it a pseudo home game on the net. There could even be multiple iteration for different nights of the week depending on interest and availability.

I like the idea of an online-only campaign. Maybe do one-shots so we don't have to worry about XP and continuity. The problem is, as I see it, making it different enough from Sparks and LOTE so it doesn't feel like a reboot.

I say go outside the box and do an online Force and Destiny game. In these real world dark times I thing I would enjoy going the super paladin route.

The big issue i'd see with doing sparks online, would be who'd do the sign off for the update sheets.

The big issue i'd see with doing sparks online, would be who'd do the sign off for the update sheets. Speaking just for myself, I would have the GM and the player do update sheets and exchange them over email to be sure they match up. But is this a key issue? Have there been big problems in the past? Personally, I wouldn't mind an online way to archive update sheets (since a few years ago I accidentally tossed my first eight along with recycling). I don't know if there's a free service that can do what we need to do.

Assuming you don't have to be a Jedi I can see starting one. Maybe make it online-only to distinguish from the others and make it more accessible. If we go forward with this, what books do we need? I'd tell you what I'd REALLY like, a non-organized play RPG campaign without modules so we could customize the experience for every player.

There's nothing stopping you from running a "home game" and using the people from the board here as players. No need to wait for an official SF7 game, make your won onlice Stars Wars game. If you're serous about it, start a new thread looking for players and see who you drum up.

Public assets? that's fine, but not modules. Heck, you can use your SPARKS characters as long as you don't advance them or change them (in the scope of SPARKS). Meanwhile, we are working on offering SPARKS options online eventually, but please give us time.
